Ready for Summer! Blenheim's newest premium playground, coming soon.

Programmed for completion in December 2026, work is well underway preparing for Blenheim's newest premium playground, positioned in the heart of Waikārapi.

Quality equipment:

The concept design is by Reset Landscape Architecture & Urban Design, who are behind some of NZ's iconic play spaces. Reset have specified the best in available equipment, with standout features including an inclusive spinner for wheelchairs/prams so everyone can join in the fun, two swings + a basket, two climbing towers with slide, a see saw and stepping logs.

All the essentials:

Seating, lighting, picnic tables, bike rack and drinking fountain are all incorporated. Rows of fruit trees (heirloom apricot, large pear-shaped figs and medium sized feijoas) will also be enjoyed by community, as well as generous 1660m2 of lawned kick-about spaces:

Spring Surprise.

30m2 of perrenial daffodil bulbs are incorporated alongside the path, which is ideal for scootering, prams and bikes.

Natural Shade.

Aside from the ten fruit trees, 42 additional trees provide both beauty and shade. The mix includes Kowhai, Tītoki, Mānatu/Ribbonwood, Purple Spire Ash, Temple Magnolia, Halls' Totara and Yoshino Cherry.

Dine alfresco.

With three picnic tables, a covered pergola area, additional seating and plenty of room for picnic rugs, this will be the perfect spot for relaxed summer catch-up's with family and friends.
